Abstract

Literature on CALL methodology-oriented issues has been of little help in practical applications within the classroom context. This has created confusion in the minds of those people who design educational software and in the minds of those who use software products. The highly sophisticated learning and teaching possibilities that the computer offers are minimized. Computers, in most cases, are used to run old-fashioned materials. The quantity of these poorly-built and market-oriented products confuse educators who show resistance and tend not to use the computer for pedagogical applications in class. Solutions need to be found and this article addresses some possible ones.
