The two volumes co-edited by the writer and the colleague Prof. M.V. Fontana was, originally, supposed to celebrate the 75° birthday of Prof. Umberto Scerrato, and after, it was published in his memory. The volumes present a large range of contributions related to scientific interests to the differing and very ample topics dealt by Umberto Scerrato with: from the Islamic Art and Archaeology, to the Iranian, from the early medieval art and Archaeology, and also to the classical Archaeology, his original topic.
