In this article the author is dealing again, after twenty years, on the question of the archaeology of the Medes. The author puts new lights on the topics, adding new considerations specially on the relationship between the artistic and architectonic culture collected in the so called “Median” area, and the one described by the sources, mainly the Greek and Roman. An interesting point of view is related to the research perspectives that an Archaeology of the Medes could have in the area in the case of a re-opening of field activity there.
