The article deals with the evidence of contacts between Eastern Sudan and Upper Nubia and between these two regions and the largley archaeologically unexplored Sudanese Red Sea coast in the Bronze Age. In particular, fresh unpublished data on the Eastern Desert are provided. Moreover, the fresh archaeological evidence may give insights into the possible identification of some sectors of the Eastern Desert with regions mentioned in the Middle Kingdom Egyptian sources.
