The dawn of the ethnic religion revival, or what is currently referred to as contemporary Paganism in Central Europe, dates back to the late 1990s. The first generation of Czech Contemporary Pagans and representatives of ethnic religions also formed in the late 1990s and mostly consisted of individuals aged between 16 to 36 years of age, i.e., individuals far from old age. Soon raised a question that Czech contemporary Pagans and ethnic religion representatives had not faced before. Death belonged in the world of their “ancestors”. Their previous death experiences were related to friends and relatives, when all Czech pagans were still alive. The chapter analyzes the birth of Slavic Paganism and the question of the experience of death in contemporary pagans. In the section relating to the period 1998 - 2012 we will rely in our research primarily on personal memories, and oral and written testimonies of some members of the first generation of representatives of the Czech ethnic religion. We also quote excerpts from the discussions on the websites of the same members of the community.
