In this introductory article to the special issue of Anglistica, Bavaro draws a theoretical frame of the issue of "mess" (especially as it relates to the notion and practice of queeerness), from Kant to Nietzsche, from Venturi to Lyotard, in order to provide a conceptual map to better navigate and "make sense of" the original essays collected in this volume, covering a diverse range of cultural products and social practices.
