This paper focuses on the medicinal recipes which are in the Book of the Marvels of the World (De mirabilibus mundi). They deal with the birth and health, the disease and death, the medicinal herbs to stimulate the fertility of women, as well as early methods of Viagra. These practices are medical, alchemical and magic so they do not form a single coherent genre of Knowledge, but rather a cross road points within a broader natural philosophical framework
