Given the influence the Russian Revolution exerted on Antonio Gramsci’s thought, the Italian philosopher observed and analysed the consequences of the Revolution as well as the possibility of translating the Soviet approach into the contemporary Italian context. Gramsci fol-lowed the policy of linguistic planning in the Soviet Union and focused on the importance of language and its relevance within Marxism. In his Prison Notebooks, by discussing his phi-losophy of praxis, the author stressed the matter of linguistic policy in educational practices and the translatability concerning scientific and philosophic languages, turning his analysis into a philosophy of language.

Abstract
Given the influence the Russian Revolution exerted on Antonio Gramsci’s thought, the Italian philosopher observed and analysed the consequences of the Revolution as well as the possibility of translating the Soviet approach into the contemporary Italian context.
