The short-story conventionally called Gladius stages, as is well known, the cunning trick with which an adulterous wife manages to deceive her husband. In its long tradition two main types of textualization are identified, defined by the number of women lovers (one or two) and by the involvement or absence of the mother. The intervention aims to analyze constants and variations of some rewriting of the short-story ascribable to both the first (Disciplina Clericalis) and the second type (Sendebar, Decameron).

Abstract

The short-story conventionally called Gladius stages, as is well known, the cunning trick with which an adulterous wife manages to deceive her husband. El cuento convencionalmente llamado Gladius escenifica, como es bien sabido, el astuto truco con el que una esposa adúltera logra engañar a su marido. En su larga tradición se identifican dos tipos principales de versiones, definidas por el número de amantes de las mujeres (uno o dos) y por la participación o ausencia de la madre. La intervención tiene como objetivo analizar constantes y variaciones de algunas reescrituras del cuento atribuibles tanto al primer tipo (Disciplina Clericalis) como al segundo (Sendebar, Decameron).
