The topic of my current research is the exploration of Altaic elements in the Yeniseian languages. Previous studies only focused on the Turkic elements, whereas the Mongolic and Tungusic loanwords have not been discussed yet. The paper presents 23 different Tungusic loanwords in Yeniseian from the etymological, phonetic, morphological and lexical aspects. In the current corpus of my research I deal with 124 loanwords with clear Tungusic etymology and I have 30 questionable words in terms of origin.

Abstract

Previous studies only focused on the Turkic elements, whereas the Mongolic and Tungusic loanwords have not been discussed yet. The paper presents 23 different Tungusic loanwords in Yeniseian from the etymological, phonetic, morphological and lexical aspects. In the current corpus of my research I deal with 124 loanwords with clear Tungusic etymology and I have 30 questionable words in terms of origin.
