The aim of this study was to find out if there is an affinity between certain lexical groups and specific derivational suffixes. In order to answer this question, I collected material on Mongolic word formation connected with colour names. I examined 108 suffixes, of which 49 are used with colour names as well as other lexical groups and 59 are restricted to colour names. My work showed the importance of the study of Mongolic historical morphology from a new point of view, i.e. the definition of derivation according to the functions of semantic groups.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to find out if there is an affinity between certain lexical groups and specific derivational suffixes. In order to answer this question, I collected material on Mongolic word formation connected with colour names. I examined 108 suffixes, of which 49 are used with colour names as well as other lexical groups and 59 are restricted to colour names. My work showed the importance of the study of Mongolic historical morphology from a new point of view, i.e. the definition of derivation according to the functions of semantic groups.File in questo prodotto:
