This paper is firstly organised on the premise that geography is a bridging discipline through which different sectoral knowledge dialogues in the construction of shared competences for education and territorial governance and the construction of an “envi- ronmental conscience”. Secondly, it seeks to identify some of the critical approaches to the concept of ecological transition as an interpretative key to the “regeneration” of knowledge and territories? The contribution will therefore define the theoretical and methodological approaches through which “territorial education” actions have been developed in Italy in the last decades and more recently on issues related to the concepts of sustainability, resilience, and vulnerability. The innovative aspects as well as the limits will be highlighted, emphasizing –among others– the role of Associazione Italiana Insegnanti di Geografia (AIIG), which has always aimed at raising awareness and valorising the territory in the different educational cycles.

Cette communication s’articule d’abord sur la base de la considération que la géographie est une discipline relais à travers laquelle différents savoirs sectoriels dialoguent dans la construction de compétences partagées pour l’éducation et la gouver- nance territoriale et la création d’une « conscience environnementale ». Elle cherche ensuite à identifier certaines des approches critiques du concept de transition écologique comme clé interprétative de la « régénération » des savoirs et des territoires. La contribution permettra donc de définir les approches théoriques et méthodologiques par lesquelles les actions d’« éducation terri- toriale » ont été développées en Italie au cours des dernières décennies, et plus récemment sur des questions liées aux concepts de durabilité, résilience et vulnérabilité. Les aspects novateurs ainsi que les limites seront soulignés, en mettant en évidence – entre autres – le rôle de l’Associazione Italiana Insegnanti di Geografia (AIIG), qui a toujours eu pour objectif de sensibiliser et valoriser le territoire dans les différents cycles éducatifs.
