Bibliotheca philosophica virtualis is a database and a digital library. The section Hermetica is the most relevant part and it’s represented by a corpus of texts attributed to Hermes Trismegistus and it includes theological and mystical-philosophical works as well as ancient texts mediated through Syrian and aAab authors. The database consists of digitized frames of manuscripts (about eight thousand) from the Hermes Latinus Archive held by the Library of the University of Naples “L’Orientale”. For each work there is this following scheme: the description of the work in Italian and English languages, the list of manuscripts and their position, the ancient and modern editions ordered chronologically, a selective bibliography of the authors, the images of the manuscripts and the works in progress.
