Scavare in archivio. Il ritrovamento del manoscritto Benedetti e la necropoli di Monte Michele a Veio

The paper concerns the discovery in 2016, in the archives of the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, of the unpublished manuscript signed by Fausto Benedetti in 1903, with the description of the excavations carried out by him self and his father Annibale, in the necropolis of Monte Michele in Veii. The manuscript helps in the reconstruction of the controversial events surrounding the excavation and will allow to re-examine the publication written by Mauro Cristofani in the 1969, dedicated to the grave goods from Monte Michele in the National Archaeological Museum of Florence.
