This article deals with Jéricho année zéro, a play written by François Abou Salem, Francine Gaspard and performed by the El-Hakawati troupe. This work highlights the way in which the play expresses the ambivalent feelings about the Oslo Accords. The choice of staging this play in the of Jericho itself is also singular, as it illustrates how the El-Hakawati troupe immediately seized the opportunities offered by the passage of Jericho under autonomous administration thanks to the peace process. The troupe was thus able to explore new forms of creation, democratize the art of theater and reinvest a space that had long been off-limits to it.

Abstract
This article deals with Jéricho année zéro, a play written by François Abou Salem, Francine Gaspard and performed by the El-Hakawati troupe. This work highlights the way in which the play expresses the ambivalent feelings about the Oslo Accords. The choice of staging this play in the of Jericho itself is also singular, as it illustrates how the El-Hakawati troupe immediately seized the opportunities offered by the passage of Jericho under autonomous administration thanks to the peace process. The troupe was thus able to explore new forms of creation, democratize the art of theater and reinvest a space that had long been off-limits to it.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
