In 2008, the writer-priest Pablo d’Ors published his fifth novel, Lecciones de ilusión. The protagonist of the work, Lorenzo Bellini, visits a sanatorium to study the relationship between madness and creation, the subject of his thesis. In this world, parallel to the real one, where madness and imagination reign, the young man encounters a curious gallery of characters and experiences absurd and nonsensical situations that, nevertheless, lead him to reflect on his own life, the meaning and importance of creation, and the relationship between reality and fantasy, often unable to distinguish between them. In the present paper we aim to demonstrate how the writer manages to project everyday reality into the fabula, showing the close relationship between literary creation and life, supporting the thesis that at the basis of both there is always locura, which unites them in an unbreakable bond.

Abstract
In 2008, the writer-priest Pablo d’Ors published his fifth novel, Lecciones de ilusión. The protagonist of the work, Lorenzo Bellini, visits a sanatorium to study the relationship between madness and creation, the subject of his thesis. In this world, parallel to the real one, where madness and imagination reign, the young man encounters a curious gallery of characters and experiences absurd and nonsensical situations that, nevertheless, lead him to reflect on his own life, the meaning and importance of creation, and the relationship between reality and fantasy, often unable to distinguish between them. In the present paper we aim to demonstrate how the writer manages to project everyday reality into the fabula, showing the close relationship between literary creation and life, supporting the thesis that at the basis of both there is always locura, which unites them in an unbreakable bond.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
