Descrizione: The paper aims to offer a philosophical re-reading of the concept of sympoiesis by looking at Deleuze and Guattari's concept of rhizome. First the novel features of the concept of sympoiesis will be presented, exposing the main differences that distinguish this concept from that of autopoiesis. Next, Dempster's proposal will be examined, pointing out some critical issues that the concept of sympoiesis presents. Finally, in light of these considerations, an attempt will be made to offer a philosophical rethinking of simpoiesis, drawing on Deleuze and Guattari's conceptualization of the rhizome.
