The Kamus Bahasa Alor–Indonesia–Inggris (Alorese–Indonesian–English Dictionary) is a work of language documentation compiled by Francesca R. Moro, Marian Klamer, and Yunus Sulistyono, and published by Universitas Negeri Malang Press in 2026. The book is the result of a collaboration between the authors and the Alorese-speaking communities, who played an essential role in the collection, examination, and analysis of linguistic data. The book serves not only as a dictionary but also as an important contribution to the documentation of the Alorese language. The book provides information on the geographical distribution of its speakers, the historical background of the language, its relationship to the Austronesian language family, and its main linguistic characteristics. The dictionary is organized into three main sections. The first contains Alorese vocabulary with translations into Indonesian and English. The second consists of an Indonesian index that allows readers to find the corresponding Alorese words. The third provides an English index with Alorese equivalents. This structure makes the dictionary accessible from multiple directions, allowing Alorese speakers, Indonesian speakers, and learners of English to use it according to their needs. In addition to the vocabulary entries, the book includes explanations of Alorese orthography, phonology, personal pronouns, possessive pronouns, demonstratives, pronominal prefixes on verbs, stative verbs, and the numeral system. Dictionary entries may also provide information on word class, meaning, variant forms, and examples of usage in sentences. In this way, readers can learn not only the meanings of individual words but also how they are used in context. One of the main objectives of the publication is to contribute to the maintenance and preservation of the Alorese language.
