The author in this article includes in the International Symposium with title “Archaeology of the Steppes, Work, Methods and Strategies” is dealing with the Italian activity in Hungary. In particular he is outlining the main excavations conducted in that country in a little bit less than 10 years: Gyoma 133, Endrod 122 and Endrod 19. In this difficult and complicated ground of investigation, the contribution of the author tries to identify different cultural groups which are not simply related to the ethno-genetic picture represented by the sources dealing with Cimmerians, Scythians, Sarmatians etc., and it tries to select, on the basis of the results of the archaeological activity, the common aspects of a cultural and a territorial identity independently from the ethnic.
