This article deals with the dramatic changes occurred in Korea's culture since 1960's. What emerges is a contradictory social situation, where the economic development of the country is countebalanced by negative phenomena such as stress, increase of suicides and divorces, alcoholism, etc. a authentic loss of "sacredness" (and happiness) inside the industrial society.
