The author in this volume devoted to the Italian-Uzbek collaboration is dealing with the topographic work effected in collaboration with the Università degli Studi di Roma, La Sapienza in 2000 and 2001. The work starting from the northern site of Vardanzeh brought to the identification of 42 news sites within the Bukhara area. A digital cartographic map is also presented in the article in order to create a future GIS of the area. Two very interesting appendix are also presented regarding the first the technical details of the topographic work and regarding the important and numerous information of the Chinese sources about the area of Bukhara.
