The article deals with the administrative devices (sealings, seals, tokens, clay tablets bearing notations to be interpreted as accounts) from the archaeological assemblages at Mahal Teglinos, in Eastern Sudan, and Bieta Giyorgis, near Aksum, Northern Ethiopia, dating respectively to the 3rd-2nd millennium BC and to the first centuries AD.
