The two articles are included in a volume published in the occasion of an exhibition of the archaeological remains of Kirghisistan, held in Naples in 2002 with the title Pastori Erranti dell’Asia: Popoli, Storia ed Archeologia nelle steppe dei Kirghisi. The exhibition present hundreds of objects representative of the ancient nomadic presence in that far country. The author emphasizes particularly the central role of that regional area between the Iranian and the Chinese sphere of influence.
