The article is dealing with the important aspect of the peripheral regions versus the centre of the Achaemenid Empire. The occasion to debate this topic is the 6th ICAANE congress held in Rome 2008. The difficult interpretation of the very nature of the Achaemenid state conditions very much the interpretation of a very far eastern periphery of such regional area as Sistan. The site of Dahan-e Ghulaman with its urban, religious unique character, gives evidence of the socio-complexity of a far satrapy as Drangiana; it, nonetheless, does not give any confirmation in such far settlement, of the epigraphic and very high artistic level present in the originarian capitals as Persepolis and Pasargade, of imperial level.

Abstract
The article is dealing with the important aspect of the peripheral regions versus the centre of the Achaemenid Empire. The occasion to debate this topic is the 6th ICAANE congress held in Rome 2008. The difficult interpretation of the very nature of the Achaemenid state conditions very much the interpretation of a very far eastern periphery of such regional area as Sistan. The site of Dahan-e Ghulaman with its urban, religious unique character, gives evidence of the socio-complexity of a far satrapy as Drangiana; it, nonetheless, does not give any confirmation in such far settlement, of the epigraphic and very high artistic level present in the originarian capitals as Persepolis and Pasargade, of imperial level.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
