The authors organizing this series of conferences wanted to offer a contribution and a different perspective to the study of the Silk Routes under the patronage of the Doctoral Schools of Oriental and African Studies (PhD: Turkey, Iran and Central Asia, East and South Asia), than that of Intercultural Studies (PhD: Archaeology , Relations between East and West) and CISA (Interdepartmental Centre for Archaeological Services), This first series of lectures on the archaeology of the Silk Roads: Paths, Images and Material Culture, has been taken place every week, since 06 March May 22, at palazzo Corigliano. The interventions of Bruno Genito, Anna Filigenzi, Chiara Visconti, Ciro Lo Muzio, Erika Forte, Aurel Von Richtoden and Maurizio Tosi, enriched with specific competences the already rich and problematic issue of the Silk Roads in the light of archaeological data.
