The volume has been published in collaboration with IsIAO, the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Università degli Studi di Napoli, l’Orientale, and edited by Bruno Genito and M.G. Moskova. The different contributions present in the volume range from some pure technical-mathematical and statistical to some other more historical-cultural. The problematic of the grave goods of the Sauromatians/Sarmatian in south Russia is very ample, ranging from a pure Mortuary analysis, point of view aiming at recognizing the richness and the status indexes of the inhumed peoples, to a more historical reconstruction of the given Sauromatian and Sarmatian peoples, occasionally and tentatively documented in the ancient sources. The chronological span time of these graves range from VII to IV century BC.
