The Persian prose literature produced between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th is very important, both from the point of view of its content and socio-historical implications, and from a more strictly literary point of view, conveying innovative contents in narrative styles belonging to the well established tradition of the classical literature. However, so far, it has not been properly considered by the scholars of the field. In the present article we analyze three works, the Ketâb-e Ahmad and the Masâleko’l-mohsenin by ‘Abdo’l-Rahim Tâlebof, and the Siyâhatnâme-ye Ebrâhim Beyg by Zeyno’l-‘Âbedin Marâghe’i, emphasizing the strong connection with the narrative frames and the compositional genres typical of the classical literary tradition, as well as their innovative features.

Abstract
The Persian prose literature produced between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th is very important, both from the point of view of its content and socio-historical implications, and from a more strictly literary point of view, conveying innovative contents in narrative styles belonging to the well established tradition of the classical literature. However, so far, it has not been properly considered by the scholars of the field. In the present article we analyze three works, the Ketâb-e Ahmad and the Masâleko’l-mohsenin by ‘Abdo’l-Rahim Tâlebof, and the Siyâhatnâme-ye Ebrâhim Beyg by Zeyno’l-‘Âbedin Marâghe’i, emphasizing the strong connection with the narrative frames and the compositional genres typical of the classical literary tradition, as well as their innovative features.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
