In Italy, as in many other countries, the ties between firms through the sharing of members of boards of directors or other relevant organs of government (interlocking directorates) are a well-known and widespread phenomenon, which is attracting a growing interest in the academic literature. The objective of this work is to study the existing links between the governing bodies of listed companies as they emerge from the communications provided by the companies to Consob. Using the techniques of Social Network Analysis, aims to generate a representation of the network of companies formed through the sharing of the directors, the intensity of these ties and, in particular, to identify what are the companies at the center of the network and what are its stable nuclei.

Abstract
In Italy, as in many other countries, the ties between firms through the sharing of members of boards of directors or other relevant organs of government (interlocking directorates) are a well-known and widespread phenomenon, which is attracting a growing interest in the academic literature. The objective of this work is to study the existing links between the governing bodies of listed companies as they emerge from the communications provided by the companies to Consob. Using the techniques of Social Network Analysis, aims to generate a representation of the network of companies formed through the sharing of the directors, the intensity of these ties and, in particular, to identify what are the companies at the center of the network and what are its stable nuclei.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
