A portrait of Emperor Vespasian on a modern bust, previoulsy unpublished, has been identified in the storerooms of the Royal Palace in Naples, and its provenance from the Farnese collection in Rome retraced. The article discusses the position of the new sculpture in Vespasian iconography and the likelihood of a posthumous production.
