The stratigraphic excavations carried out in neighbourhoods of Pompeii provided new data on the building techniques in use during the IV-II century BC; new details emerged also about the building foundations of the walls constructed in opus quadratum, opus africanum and opus caementicium. Excavations have finally shown that during the great reconstruction of II century B.C. in many houses were rebuilt only the foundations of the walls, while their middle and upper zones were almost entirely conserved.

Abstract
The stratigraphic excavations carried out in neighbourhoods of Pompeii provided new data on the building techniques in use during the IV-II century BC; new details emerged also about the building foundations of the walls constructed in opus quadratum, opus africanum and opus caementicium. Excavations have finally shown that during the great reconstruction of II century B.C. in many houses were rebuilt only the foundations of the walls, while their middle and upper zones were almost entirely conserved.File in questo prodotto:
