La néologie et les dictionnaires bilingues : tendances et enjeux

Neology is a language's vital sign and the catalyst of all lexicographic practices. In the case of bilingual lexicography, the screening and selection of nomenclature is further complicated because it requires putting two languages into contact, and thus two different conceptualizations of new realities and new meanings. We compared the nomenclatures of bilingual and monolingual dictionaries to more closely analyze the lexicographic description af a sampling of new entries that have revealed themselves as particulary significant. This analysis allow us to uncover many tendencies and issues that are at the root of integrating neologisms into general French-Italian bilingual dictionaries.
