The KADMOS project (i.e. Kahle Documents Management, Organization, and Study), started in 2010 with the advocacy and economical support of Regione Piemonte, focuses on the study, preservation and valorisation of Paul Kahle’s research documents. This collection housed in the University of Turin consists of a huge quantity of archival material (about 15 linear meters of documents, at least 40.000 letters, a collection of manuscripts and printed books). A first, important, step has been undertaken in the years 2007-2008 as concerns the manuscripts collection: the manuscripts catalogue was printed in 2011. The KADMOS project focuses on the archival material, with an aim at reconstructing the whole collection of Paul Kahle as a legacy of an outstanding Orientalist as well as an important witness of a dramatic piece of history. The present paper aims to illustrate the KADMOS project and describe some documents which could be representative of the way of working of Paul Kahle in the field of the Arab and Hebrew studies.
