The article focuses on the dreamscape of Japanese Buddhist monk Myōe shōnin and on the multiple valences of his dreams, analyzed alongside the cultural, religious, and socio-political dynamics of his time. Attention is also paid to the interconnections between dreams, impermanence, and the intensification of knowledge within a Buddhist context.
