The author describes the fourth season of excavation at Koj Tepa in ancient Sogdiana, in Uzbekistan. Special emphasis is given to the trenches 5, 6, already started in the previous campaign and in trench 9. In the latter the discovery of a massive wall structure in raw, yet of uncertain function, enriches the already complex nature of the settlement. It probably was founded in the Hellenistic and presents more chronological phases that by the time arrive until the second and first centuries BC
